Optimist Consulting is run by me, Abby Wright-Parkes. I have over 15 years experience in marketing and membership development. In my employed career I was Director of Membership and Marketing for the influential ACEVO (the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations)and then Director of Membership for the Institute of Administrative Management, a professional body with 20,000 members.

I decided to establish myself as a freelancer at the start of 2011 to share my optimism (hence the name!) and love of marketing and membership development directly with a range of different clients.

Presentations
I co-delivered a sell-out workshop on membership for the Guardian in January 2012 and I also spoke at an event about membership retention for the MemberWise network in early 2012. I am delivering an event for Kingston Smith in early September 2012 on generational differences. I speaking and chairing a session at a MemberWise event focusing on using the web to grow and increase value for members on the web in October.

I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

I am also an Associate of  the Elephant Creative marketing team.
